SEMICON Taiwan 2022 opens tomorrow, bringing together industry leaders and visionaries to discuss the latest innovations and trends driving growth in the microelectronics industry. The event, which will take place September 14-16 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall I (TaiNEX 1), will feature expert insights on key semiconductor industry topics such as advanced manufacturing, smart manufacturing, heterogeneous integration, compound semiconductors, automotive chips, sustainable manufacturing, semiconductor cybersecurity, and workforce development. Registration is open.

SEMICON Taiwan 2022

SEMICON Taiwan 2022 is the region's premier event for advanced manufacturing supply chains, featuring more than 700 exhibitors from Taiwan and overseas in more than 2,400 booths and the largest hall in the event's nearly 30-year history.

At a recent pre-show press conference, industry leaders shared Taiwan's development strategy and their views on the future of the semiconductor industry. Special guests include:

Kong Ming-hsin, Minister of Taiwan's National Development Bureau

Wu Tian, CEO of Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) and Vice Chairman of SEMI International's Board of Directors

Doris Hsu, Chairman and CEO of GlobalWafers Group and a member of the Board of Directors of SEMI International

Lu Donghui, Corporate Vice President and Head of Micron Taiwan

"Despite ongoing global economic challenges, the semiconductor industry is poised for long-term growth, with the industry expected to reach $1 trillion by 2030," said Terry Tsao, Global Chief Marketing Officer and President of SEMI Taiwan. "We are excited to host companies from the semiconductor supply chain to learn about the latest industry developments, trends and innovations as they explore new business partnerships and market opportunities and tackle some of the world's biggest challenges."

SEMICON Taiwan highlights

SEMICON Taiwan 2022 focuses on key topics, including the following.

• Advanced Manufacturing – The IC Forum brings together manufacturers, equipment and materials suppliers, and academia to help solve manufacturing challenges through innovative strategies and approaches.

• Compound Semiconductors – To promote the development of Taiwan's compound semiconductor industry, the Compound Semiconductor Pavilion features a series of forums and industry networking sessions focusing on future industry trends and technologies.

• Semiconductor Cybersecurity – The Semiconductor Cybersecurity Pavilion introduces new SEMI standards that establish security requirements for microelectronics manufacturing.

• Smart Manufacturing - The Taiwan Smart Manufacturing Expo brings together smart manufacturing solution providers, including hardware and software suppliers and system integrators, to explore innovations aimed at optimizing manufacturing processes while increasing capacity and yield.

• Semiconductor Sustainability – The Semiconductor Sustainability Summit focuses on key topics, including green technologies to achieve zero waste, carbon reduction, and sustainable innovation.

• Heterogeneous Integration – The 2022 Heterogeneous Integration Global Summit addresses key topics, including digital transformation and 3D heterogeneous integration trends and energy-efficient high-performance computing (HPC).

Automotive Chips – The Global Automotive Chip Executive Summit brings together leaders from the microelectronics and automotive industries to discuss collaboration opportunities and ways to accelerate automotive chip development.

• Workforce Development – The Workforce Development Program connects students with companies in the semiconductor supply chain and includes talent development, women in semiconductor (WiS), and educational programs such as the Diversity and Inclusion Workshop, which provide insights into workforce trends and career planning.
